Italian Cooking 101: Cook Books
(Giada De Laurentiis cookbooks)
I have to be honest.. before I moved to Italy over a year ago, I did not know how to cook…! I mean I didn’t know how to cook anything! But since I am living in the land of fresh, and delicious food it seems only right that I learn. I have been learning along the way and growing a true passion for cooking. Everything I cook (beside my baking) I would say has adapted to the Italian Kitchen. My mom sent me to Italy with her Giada De Laurentiis cookbooks. Giada has helped me tremendously with the basics of Italian cooking, and what’s great is the fact that she uses all the products you find here in Italy but the recipes are in English. Along with that, I now refer to La Cucinca Italian magazine which is fabulous for following seasonal recipes and also my produce in season wheel from Eataly.
I have also been very fortunate to be able to learn from such a great cook like Matteo’s mom, Daniela. Daniela has been walking me through and teaching me every step of the way with my Italian cooking skills. I can say now I have developed a much better command of the kitchen and it’s amazing to think back at how little I knew about cooking over a year ago before moving here. I’ll continue to be sharing with you my recipes and see how I grow with my cooking with Amore Bici Cappuccino.
Surprisingly enough… I prefer eating my home cooked meals rather than going out to restaurants… who would have thought?!

Giada is my idol. She taught me about Italian cooking as well.
Giada’s great! Love testing out her recipes, and I have many more posts to come about learning how to cook Italian by using Giada’s cookbooks
